Advantages of Using a Wood Burning Stove

Nothing quite has the advantages of a wood burning stove. The fuel is ecological and economical, they look attractive and most importantly of all, they are warm.

Wood is cheaper than a lot of fuels, over the past few years oil prices have generally increased ( excluding current prices.* Jan 2015), gas is becoming more and more expensive, and not to mention, electricity has always been a very expensive way to heat a home. You can even harvest your own wood, and as it is renewable, it is environmentally friendly.

An open fire has approximately 18% efficiency, whereas our wood burning stoves have over 75% efficiency. This is due to the fact that open fires lose a lot of their heat up the open chimney, and when it comes to stoves, they only have a small amount of chimney draught, and even this small draught can be closed off to prevent this loss. This means our stoves use 4 times less fuel to achieve the same heat output – saving you a lot of money in the long run.

There are a huge amount of advantages to buying a wood burning stove, and with Carron offering a number of stoves in different sizes and colours you are sure to find one to suit your home. So what are you waiting for?
